What
threatened to be a rainy day turned into a beautiful autumn day,
which was fortunate, since the ceremony was outside. I
supplied a remote setup for the ceremony. Everything turned
out well, which is always a relief when you're dealing with the
weather.
At Kimberton, cocktail is always held in a room separate from the
rest of the reception. The have their own sound system, so I
handed them a CD that I premixed for cocktail. Introductions
were a little tricky, since I was asked to play 9 different songs,
but we managed to pull it off.
Holly and Andrew's first dance was "Over the Rainbow" by
Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, which is a great wedding song no matter
when it's played. I was scheduled to DJ until 10 PM, which
made for a 6 1/2 hour reception, which is about an hour and a half
longer than they usually go. People were dancing throughout
the evening, so I got to play a wide mix of songs. All in
all a fun day. Holly and Andrew are a very nice couple and
the people at Kimberton were great to work with.
