Anniversary Dance
This is the alternative to the garter/bouquet toss. All the married
couples onto the dance floor. Your wedding DJ will explain that we want to find
out which couple has been married the longest and to take a seat when
prompted. This takes no more than two of songs. We’ll ask for married
couples to be seated who have been married for less than one day,
5-10-20-30-40-41-42… years and so on. The dance floor will thin out
for couples celebrating their silver anniversary. Then when the last remaining
couple is on the floor, we’ll ask them how long they have been married
and ask for a round of applause. That couple is then given a present
from the bride and groom, such as a bottle of wine or the bouquet. They
take a picture with the couple. We'll dedicate the next song to them and
invite all the couples back out onto the floor. To
some people, the garter bouquet may sound a little cheesey, so this is a
great alternative.
